Great list, I'll have to check out some of those. My kids are getting old enough to appreciate "grown-up" music, too, which is pretty cool:)

Here's another album I'd like to recommend from the Asylum Street Spankers called "Mommy Says NO!"

I'm waiting for my next paycheck so I can order it! I've been waiting for this one just so I can have a copy of their amazing rendition of Henry Nillson's "Think About Your Troubles."

Ain't it funny how, say, Yankee fans breed and stick the kid into a Yankee onesie and take it to Yankee games and bond over Yankee stuff don't get any of the shit that Ramones fans get by sticking their kid in a Ramones t-shirt and playing Ramones songs for the kid? As if sports culture is more wholesome than music culture. Pfft.

Thank goodness I'm not the only rad woman who wants to adopt Britney. I never liked her much myself, but now I find myself wanting to protect her. I'd love to mentor her or something. Probably a stupid savior complex, I know, but the girl needs help and all anyone wants to do is judge her. And blame the partying!

If I were Britney Spears, I'd be smoking weed, too, that's for damn sure. But that's the LEAST of her problems.

How fucked up is it that when Britney Spears does something truly cool like shave her head, everyone immediately assumes that she's having a nervous breakdown?

When a former sex object willfully and abruptly rejects the universal sexbot dresscode, there's hell to pay!

Stupid Angel trumps Brilliant Asshole every single time. Assholes hurt people intentionally. Plus, I think stupid kids are happier kids. Maybe.

I love being asked my opinion on stuff. I can even give my opinion on stuff I know nothing about... like Diddy's and Clap's albums. Just watch --> Diddy's Press Play is lethargic at best; I can't stand the way he mumbles; his dancing reminds me too much of MC Hammer. I should be thankful, however, that his dancing is done without a lick of irony. He really does think he looks fly hoppin’ around like that. Clap's music is like a dentist drill being wielded by a young, gaunt dentist who suffers from anxiety attacks but who feels his anxiety attacks give him character when in actuality they just make him uncomfortable to be around. He feels the same way about his mismatched socks and roach-infested Chinatown studio apartment.

I went to the DC movie premiere at the National Geographic Society of “God Grew Tired of Us” http://www.godgrewtiredofus.com/ on Jan. 16th featuring John Dau, one of the Lost Boys. The documentary was inspiring and brought to life not only the hardships they faced as boys but what they faced coming to America. They never used electricity or even a shower. There is a cute scene of the guys eating potato chips for the first time.

John Dau is now working with Direct Change as the Director of the Sudan Project. Direct Change is a wonderful noprofit that 100% of the money raised goes directly to projects. Wonderful bunch of people. http://www.directchange.org/
